Organized by the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival and the Kuratorium Junger Deutscher Film in cooperation with the Produzentenverband (Producers’ Association)
The film industry is changing rapidly, and this raises important questions: about the future of movie theaters, about how to deal with streaming services, about the relationship between the burgeoning variety of forms of expression in film and video on the one hand and the limits of the film industry on the other. The impact of the coronavirus pandemic renders the search for answers all the more urgent.
The next generation of filmmakers offers hope for a revitalization of the culture of film. Yet many aspiring filmmakers and graduates of film schools and audiovisual programs are currently facing the challenge of gaining a foothold in an industry that needs to reinvent itself and whose systemic hurdles, as the 2021 Young Talent Study commissioned by the Produzentenverband has shown, have long made it difficult to get started in the profession.
The Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival and the Kuratorium junger deutscher Film, in close cooperation with the Produzentenverband’s Initiative Zukunft Nachwuchs, are organizing the Forum Talentfilm Deutschland from September 14 to 16, 2022. To structure the content of the event in the fall, we are inviting selected industry representatives to a one-hour working dialogue.
