When sexual curiosity manifests itself late in life, a conflict with one’s Catholic faith is inevitable.

Just one click and Cruz — wife, mother of an aspiring dancer, grandmother of a precocious granddaughter, and devout Catholic — lands on a porn website. She's overcome with shame, but the images also awaken her hidden desires. When she joins a sex therapy group for women, she gradually makes progress in her search for sensuality and self-love.

Meet the director

Patricia Ortega

Patricia Ortega, born in 1977, is a Venezuelan director and screenwriter. She attended the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba from 2003 to 2005, specializing in film directing. In 2006, she also studied documentary film directing at the Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. In 2009, she became president of Mandrágora Films, an independent film production company under whose umbrella she made several short films and documentaries. In 2013, she presented her first feature film, THE RETURN. Her second feature, BEING IMPOSSIBLE, was screened at the SXSW film festival and earned awards for best screenplay and director at the Venezuelan Film Festival. In 2019, Ortega started developing her third feature film, MAMACRUZ, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023. Ortega grew up in a strict Catholic family, where she was always the "black sheep" who chose not to conform to traditional roles.
