Paolo Genovese
Paolo Genovese, born in Rome in 1966, began his career in advertising and directed more than 300 award-winning commercials. In 1998, he began collaborating with Luca Miniero; their first feature film together, a comedy called A NEAPOLITAN SPELL (2002), earned a David di Donatello as well as two Golden Globes. Genovese followed this up with his solo directorial debut, THE SANTA CLAUS GANG (2010). At the 2016 Tribeca Festival, Genovese's film PERFECT STRANGERS, for which he also wrote the screenplay, was honored with the award for best screenplay. His tenth feature film was also named best film at the Premi David di Donatello and was sold in more than 80 countries, making it one of the greatest hits in European film in the last 30 years. THE FIRST DAY OF MY LIFE is based on his best-selling novel of the same title, published in May 2018.
