When love is not enough: the daily struggle of a mother who is not allowed to be one.

Gia is pregnant, but her joyful anticipation is clouded by worries that her child could be taken away from her. Her first two children already live with foster families. There's not much chance of things being any different this time, as Gia is on drugs and can barely make ends meet. However, this young black woman is determined to fight for her children and against the system.
