IONDA invites to an exchange of ideas with international creatives who not only intensively deal with AI tools in film and art, but also apply them, program them themselves and challenge them. Curated and moderated by Astrid Kahmke.


The event is mostly in English, speakers are connected online. After each talk there will be an opportunity for discussion with the speakers.

15:00 | MARKUS WALSCH: I’M YOUR STAFF WRITER
Markus is a creative media professional with expertise in AI-aided storytelling, films and series, nominated for Int'l Emmy and other awards. Also coaches & lectures on AI powered series development, marketing, journalism & storytelling. Always exploring new AI developments for creative work. Together with his colleague Prof. Taç Romey, Markus is coaching writers, producers, networks, and broadcasters on how to incorporate AI as a staff writer in the development process of series and films.


15:40 | PIOTR WINIEWICZ: About a Hero – Challenging Filmmakers with AI
Piotr is an artist and filmmaker, currently working on the feature film „About a Hero“ - an adaptation of a script written by a ‘machine’ /AI trained on body of work by Werner Herzog. In his talk he will reflect on the process behind the project, moral and ethical issues it raised and history of technophobia in art and film industry.

Staus is a future experience designer with a focus on anchoring playful interactive stories into reality. As a Creative Technology Director and Partner at Manyone, he’s built numerous large scale XR and spatial projects, exhibited at Venice Film Festival, SXSW, Copenhagen Contemporary, United Nations Climate Assembly in Kenya to name a few. The past 3 years he's been investigating generative AI and synthetic design processes, building different tools that plays into his spatial work, giving him broad perspectives on ways to apply AI in human centric ways.


In addition, a panel on the question "Does Generative AI replace creativity?" will take place at ZIRKA - Center for Interdisciplinary Spatial and Cultural Work starting at 5:30 pm.
