The Kunstareal has grown continuously over 200 years and today presents cultural history spanning more than 5,000 years. Between the grandiose Königsplatz and Theresienstrasse, the Kunstareal offers an extraordinary variety of museums with works from the glorious advanced civilization of Egypt through antiquity to the present day. 18 museums and exhibition halls, more than 20 galleries, six internationally renowned universities and numerous cultural institutions are all within walking distance of each other.
