A major find among 40 years of the Filmfest, presented in German once again for this anniversary. In a universal story about a struggle for tolerance and to live one's own life, Dalibor Matanić skillfully conveys the latently aggressive mood in his home country.
The door to an apartment building in Zagreb turns out to be a real gateway to hell. Here, Iva and Maria, a lesbian couple, live amid a group of rejects from society. Yet even among prostitutes, ex-soldiers, and skinheads, the two meet with rejection. When a neighbor falls in love with Iva, the situation escalates.
This screening is for free.
