A family drama about 20 years of hope, isolation, and a search for belonging.
Like millions of others, Mohammad, Leila, and Qasem flee Afghanistan for Iran when the US invades in 2001. The three of them are part of an extended family hoping for a new beginning in a place far from the horrors of war. But they don’t feel really welcome; they’re exploited and threatened with deportation. Can they ever feel at home there?
