We have a new design and the excitement is mounting as Filmfest 2024 approaches. The festival team is already looking forward to meeting all the terrific guests who will be coming this summer!

First things first: we’re a festival for the general public. Anyone in Munich may attend a screening of any of our films. For the price of a standard movie ticket, your time at the festival is always a special event — and at most of our screenings, you’ll meet members of the various film teams.

Details regarding ticket prices and the date when tickets go on sale will be posted here in advance of the festival. From June 28 to July 7, you’ll have the opportunity to discover real cinematic gems, attend any of our numerous free film talks, and celebrate the latest premieres with us.

Make a note of June 28, because on this Friday there will be the first public event to present the program. Starting at 7 pm, the curators will share their special program highlights with the audience at the Amerikahaus festival center. And afterwards, the CineVision Award winner 2022 AFTERSUN will be screened at MUBI presents: Best of Filmfest. The event is free of charge. So come along, it's first come, first served.

Parallel to the grand opening gala at HP8 on June 29 (by invitation only), we will also be presenting a wonderful coming-of-age film to Munich audiences at Amerikahaus. EDGE OF SUMMER tells the story of 11-year-old Evie, who has to learn during the vacations that adults hide a lot from her.

And be sure to keep Sunday, 07.07. free. For the first time, we will be holding an audience day on which all tickets will cost just 9.90 euros. In addition to the programmers' personal favorites, you can also see all of this year's winning films again on this day.
