It's done. FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2021 is over. The #ffmuc team says thank you to all helpers, supporters and visitors.

A mark for the culture!

The 38th festival edition is now behind us - and of course it was a very special one! On ten exciting days and magical evenings, film premieres from all over the world could be seen at various venues throughout the city: Partly in the reopened festival cinemas, partly under the starry sky, partly also under umbrellas, but this did not diminish the joy of finally being able to experience films together on the big screen again.

All that remains for us at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN is to say thank you. Thank you to all film fans for coming in such large numbers to the more than 130 public screenings and to our "Filmmakers Live!" discussions. Thank you for not letting wind and weather spoil the fun of the collective film experience. And most of all, thank you for making this film festival an unforgettable experience with and for us!

We will see you in the summer of 2022 or preferably already next November for the anniversary edition of FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH.

Representation in Film, Vol. 2

The images we see stay in our minds. Stories we hear tell us about our world. Who identifies with them? Who writes the screenplays for our films, who chooses the faces that appear in them, which environments get to be portrayed — and more importantly: which do not?
